Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 12, 2026

Last updated: August 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how MyList ("MyList," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our websites, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). It also explains the choices and rights that may be available to you.

By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information we collect

We collect information in the following ways.

Information you provide

  • Account and sign-in information, such as your email address, phone number where supported, verification details, and identifiers received from a sign-in provider you choose, such as Apple, Google, GitHub, or WeChat.
  • Profile information, such as your display name, username, avatar, biography, and profile links.
  • Content you create or submit, including lists, saved items, titles, descriptions, notes, links, images, comments, feedback, reports, and other material.
  • AI inputs, including prompts, messages, links, images, and lists you attach or mention when using AI-assisted features.
  • Communications, including messages and information you send when requesting support, reporting content, or otherwise contacting us.
  • Transaction information, if paid features become available, such as the product purchased, amount, currency, status, and transaction reference. Payment credentials may be handled directly by an app store or payment provider rather than by MyList.

Please do not include sensitive personal information in public content, AI prompts, or support requests unless it is necessary and you are comfortable providing it.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Service, our systems and service providers may automatically receive:

  • Device and network information, such as IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, language, referring page, and approximate region inferred from network information.
  • Usage and log information, such as pages viewed, features used, request times, errors, and security events.
  • Cookies and local storage data used to keep you signed in, remember settings, route you to the appropriate regional service, and store certain features locally. For example, AI conversation history may be stored in your browser's local storage and remains there until you remove it, clear site data, or the application removes it.
  • Analytics information on deployments where analytics is enabled, such as page views and general interaction data used to understand and improve the Service.

Information from other sources

We may receive information from:

  • sign-in providers when you choose to connect or use their service;
  • public web pages and third-party data sources when you ask us to resolve a link, image, product, book, film, place, or other item; and
  • other users, for example when they follow you, interact with your public content, mention you, or submit a report.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and maintain accounts and authenticate users;
  • provide, personalize, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • create, organize, publish, share, and display lists and other content as you direct;
  • process AI requests, generate suggestions, resolve submitted links or images, and apply changes you request;
  • enable likes, follows, favorites, comments, notifications, and other community features;
  • provide support and respond to requests;
  • detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms;
  • moderate content and protect users, MyList, and the public;
  • measure performance and understand how the Service is used;
  • comply with law, enforce agreements, and establish or defend legal claims; and
  • communicate service, security, policy, and account updates.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to perform our contract with you, comply with legal obligations, pursue legitimate interests that are not overridden by your rights, and obtain consent where required. You may withdraw consent at any time, but withdrawal does not affect processing already completed and may prevent some features from working.

3. AI-assisted features

When you use AI-assisted features, the text, images, links, and relevant account or list context needed to answer your request may be sent to AI infrastructure and model providers. Those providers process the information on our behalf or under their own applicable terms and privacy commitments.

AI chat history may be stored locally in your browser. When you are signed in, a generated plan and the information necessary to apply it may also be stored on our servers. AI output can be incomplete or inaccurate; it is intended to help you organize content, not to make legal, medical, financial, employment, credit, housing, or similarly significant decisions.

Do not submit confidential information or personal information about another person unless you have the right to do so.

4. How we disclose information

We may disclose information in the following circumstances:

  • At your direction or publicly. Public profiles, published lists, comments, and other content you choose to make public can be viewed, copied, indexed, or shared by others. Content shared through a public link may remain accessible to anyone who has that link.
  • Service providers. We use providers for hosting, databases, authentication, storage, email delivery, analytics, content resolution, AI processing, security, and customer support. They receive information only as reasonably necessary to perform services for us and are subject to applicable contractual or legal obligations.
  • Sign-in, app-store, and payment providers. If you choose these services, information is also processed under their own terms and privacy policies.
  • Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when we reasonably believe it is required by law or necessary to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users, MyList, our partners, or the public.
  • Business changes. Information may be disclosed as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards and notice where required.
  • With your consent. We may disclose information for another purpose after explaining it and obtaining any consent required by law.

MyList does not sell personal information for money. We do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide any choices required by law before the change applies.

5. Data storage and international processing

MyList and its service providers may process information in the country or region associated with your account and in other places where they operate. Privacy laws in those places may differ from those in your location. Where required, we use contractual, organizational, or other safeguards for transfers of personal information.

Language selection does not determine where data is stored. A separate regional deployment, domain, or in-product notice may provide additional information for that deployment and will supplement this Policy.

6. Retention and account deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this Policy. Retention depends on the type of information, whether your account remains active, and legal, security, accounting, dispute-resolution, and operational requirements.

You can request account deletion through account settings where that feature is available, or by contacting us. Account deletion deactivates the account, removes or anonymizes direct profile identifiers, and archives associated lists from normal display. We may retain limited records when reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with law, tax, accounting, or regulatory requirements;
  • complete transactions and preserve accurate financial records;
  • prevent fraud, abuse, or re-registration of a deleted account;
  • resolve disputes and enforce agreements; or
  • maintain secure backups for a limited period.

Public content, media, or links may remain in search-engine caches, backups, third-party services, or copies made by other users after deletion. Clearing browser data removes locally stored information on that browser but does not delete information already sent to our servers.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • know whether and how we process your personal information;
  • access or receive a copy of certain information;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • delete information, subject to lawful exceptions;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • withdraw consent;
  • receive certain information in a portable format;
  • opt out of a sale, sharing for behavioral advertising, or certain profiling where applicable; and
  • complain to your local privacy or data-protection authority.

You may update certain profile information or delete your account in the Service. For other requests, contact us using the address below. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, subject to verification of their authority.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. These rights are not absolute, and we may deny or limit a request where permitted by law, in which case we will explain our decision when required.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls and encrypted network transmission where supported. No service, storage system, or transmission method is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your email, devices, authentication methods, and account sessions.

If you believe your account or information has been compromised, contact us promptly.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and they may not create an account. If local law requires a higher minimum age, that higher age applies. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child who is not permitted to use the Service. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites, applications, content, or services. We do not control their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information to them. This Policy applies only to MyList's processing of information.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the Service, our providers, or applicable laws change. We will post the updated version and revise the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects your rights or how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law.
